Gestern wurden die Gewinner der diesjährigen Drama Desk Awards bekannt gegeben. Das Musical „Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812“ bekam vier Auszeichnungen und ist damit der Gewinner des Abends.

„Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812“ von Dave Malloy gewann die Preise in den Kategorien Outstanding Director of a Musical, Set Design, Lighting Design und Sound Design.

Das Broadway-Revival von „Hello, Dolly!“ erhielt vorab die meisten Nominierungen und gewann in den Kategorien Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Actress in a Musical und Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical.

Den Award für das beste Musical gewann „Come From Away“. „Anastasia“ war insgesamt neun Mal nominert, wurde jedoch nur in der Kategorie Projection Design ausgezeichnet.

Der Drama Desk Award ehrt besondere Leistungen und Produktionen am Broadway, Off-Broadway und Off-Off-Broadway. Die Gewinner werden von Theaterkritikern, Journalisten und Verlegern aus der Theater- und Musical-Branche ausgewählt.
